UK trip November 2009 – Day 1/2/3

Posted in UK trip, 旅行 with tags , on November 15, 2009 by Christene Tang

Been a while I did not update my blog.  However, I would like to blog a bit during this UK trip which would last for a month.  It took me 13 hours flight with MAS from KLIA to Heathrow London.  The journey was comfortable this time compare to previous trip.  Probably due to the Double X vitamin that I took twice along the journey.  It is suppose to keep me ‘activated’ and ‘fresh’ with supplement of multimineral, multivitamin and various herbs in concentrated form.

Dave, the taxi transfer dropped me at Southampton Regent Park office.  Suppose to meet up with Francois and team upon arrival.  However, it was only 700am and I waited for an hour to have Francois in the office.  I was so happy to meet Robert (which I seems not-so-familiar for him now) and Neil! Neil hugged me with just his right arm (yes, he looks a lot bigger now, haha :p) and I appear to be so small.  In just a while, Ian came in and gave me a hug too.  It’s a quick ‘hi’ and ‘goodbye’ to him.  Francois asked me to go back hotel  and offered to send me to the hotel. Such a kind person.

See, the tv can turn to different angle.

Tesco is just across the road. The tallest building at the back is West Quay. See the banner with red white strip? that’s Friday’s.

I was arranged at Novotel, which nearby Ibis hotel that I used to stayed last 2 trips.  However, Novotel is a lot better :p in terms of room and breakfast. I like the TV cause I can turn it to different angle.

Friday night, we went out to the nearby Thai restaurant for dinner.  Visited Mazura’s apartment.  They are having a day trip to Bath and Stonehenge.  However, I was advised to rest for a day first.  Then I may consider to go Portsmouth on Sunday.

Happy to get in touch with James or more well know as Bear who is now in Scotland.  He always called near to midnight, just to find that, I have fall asleep…:p  Hope to visit him one day in Shetland!

Yesterday (which is the 2nd day), I had great breakfast in the hotel (which I think a lot better than Ibis Hotel). After that I stayed in the hotel talking to my dear back in KL, FB, and doing some reading online.  Until Eunice called ard 3pm to go shopping at West Quay.  I got ready and she called again, saying that the wind outside was so strong and she worried that I might have difficulty coming back later.  Well, it’s the best time to experience the strong wind. I walked out the hotel lobby to find out that the wind is really strong. It’s either pushing me backward or pushing me forward. We did some shopping in West Quay and ASDA.

I notice that, after 5hours of darkness, I started to feel sleepy even though it is only 8pm! And I woke up 5am this morning ~.~ Tonight, I will sleep at least 10pm!

After breakfast, I was enjoying the coldness outside the lobby and walking around. We departed from Southampton to Portsmouth ard 9am. We started with some sight seeing and camera.  It’s funny when all the gals outing together.  We would take photo of the same spot for more than 10 times! 😀

After that, we shopped for around2 hours.  Magically, we bought ‘quite a lot’.  I love the Burbery hat but it cost more than MYR300!! I bought myself a sleeveless vest and a pair of boots.

Finally, sending off the gals back to London. I came back to hotel. Trying on the boots and vest. Happy 🙂

New vest from GAP.

See the boots.

Photo of Portsmouth is with the other camera. Will share later in FB.  Tomorrow is Monday, and work starts!

Fortnum & Mason

After I finished the honey drink that brought from home, I put the Fortnum & Mason teaback into the La Gaurmet thermalwae and make myself a hot tea. I decided to share what I know about Fortnum’s here since it’s mid night shift and nothing much really in hand too.

I was introduced this brand/department store by Sara when we met in London last November.  She told me that it’s a famous brand with special royal connection in it’s history.  It was approaching Christmas 2009 and the store was decorated beautifully. Well, the glass wall was closed with some special secret within.  Oh yea, the store was located at Piccadilly, central London.  I visited the store 2 times, once with Sara and another with Hup.  Bought chocolate and tea leaf from there too.  If you happen to drop by, do remind me for a Fortnum’s tea ya.

So, what’s the history that Fortnum’s has with regards to royal family? For this, I got to ask Wikipedia.

“...During the Napoleonic Wars, the emporium supplied dried fruit, spices and other preserves to the British officers and during the Victorian era it was frequently called upon to provide food for prestigious Court functions. Queen Victoria even sent shipments of Fortnum and Mason’s concentrated beef tea to Florence Nightingale’s hospitals during the Crimean War...” from Wikipedia.

Well, besides the tea leaf, the other thing that I really love from Fortnum’s is the perfum.  It was ‘natural’.  Well, costly, of cause.

When I visited Fortnum’s for the first time with Sara, the glass door was covered.  The second time I went with Hup, the secret was revealed! See below, for the decoration in the glass wall.

Secret 2

So now I am alone.

Okay, so now I am alone. Allow me to talk non-sense.

Been doing some cleaning cause my room was just renovated over the past week due to termite problem.

The wardrobe is gone. The floor is new. I moved the bed and the study tables into the room. But for whole day, I been miserable how to arrange my cloths. Checked out some wardrobe in the furniture shop and for a 4ft. wardrobe, it is MYR880, the 5ft. is MYR1080. Well, it wasn’t the IDEAL wardrobe though. So I went to Carrefour. There are some cheap wooden wardrobe. There are also some simple steel cloths rack. I remember, Grey’s wardrobe was just a simply rack without any cover. She has only those cloths that she wear on the rack.

So, I thought of Shene too. We used to laugh at each other having problem with our cloths. Most of the cloths in the wardrobe were wore ONCE and some of them I have not even wear it before. I forgot why I bought it, maybe it was nice and for collection purpose, which is merely stupid.

Do I still want a big wardrobe, which at the end, all the cloths inside was a piece of mess? Or just a simple rack? Those that I don’t wear often, i could keep them in the plastic case which I have bought a few from Carrefour last time.

This space is gonna be mine for sometimes. So, I do not need to rush cleaning up. For the past 2 hours, I clear the small traveling set to put them on the ‘bag case’; put the overcoat and sweater into the big plastic case (am gonna get a cloth cover for the overcoat).

Lucky that it is a rainy day. The temperature get a bit low where I am comfortable with. It was just too hot in the morning and noon.

Trying to settle down my thoughts and emotions. Now I am back to Malaysia and in my own room.

Relax.

Be myself.

And slowly, I realize your impact to my life . . .

Home sweet home

After 13hours of long haul flight, finally I am back!

On the way, on and off, I was crying. I was so emotional. I do not know, was it due to missing him too much or cause of being lonely. I feel that we are so far away, in location. We have a 7 hours time zone difference!

Yes, whatever the reason, I miss him a lot. For the past few years, was hardly we apart from each other for so long.  And this time it’s gonna be 2 months! Yes, I love the 100% attention that he gives me. He actually got mad when I called him on Wednesday. He thought that I do not have a UK mobile and Digi international roaming was not activated (it is still not activated!), thus I was not contactable. I call him using the office phone on Wed and aha . . . why didn’t I call on Monday, I am late for 2 days?

He sent me to the Heathrow Airport in the Saturday morning. It is 4:30am in the morning in UK. I wish I could call him now. He is asleep. Been sms him several. Wanna tell him what happen at home and how much I miss him.

Well, it seems like I looks independent. Over these years, I start to depend on him, bit too much. There are just things that I want him to do for me and he does it so well.  How could I ignore?

Am still crying missing him . . . ~.~

Is it gonna stop only when I meet him again?
